Growing Old with Your Love

Growing Old Together With Your Love

Growing old is one of the most beautiful phases of this journey of life. However, it might not sound so good for too many people because it comes with so many demerits. Your body weakens and you lose physical strength to do any core activity. You have to become more cautious about your diet and lifestyle especially if you are suffering from any kind of health condition whether it is diabetes, heart-related ailments, etc. If you don’t have a partner or anyone to look after you might feel lonely and it can also lead to severe depression. However, we cannot avoid this phase of our life. So, today I am primarily going to emphasize the beauty of growing old and especially with your loved one. I would like to share my perspective on this beautiful phase of life.

Here is a list of things to ponder upon on the beauty of growing old.

1.  As you grow older, you get wiser.

Growing old is just not about aging. It is about so many beautiful things that you gain over the years. You have a better understanding of what you need and what you don’t. You are able to set your priorities right and leave the grudges behind. You gain wisdom about life and its pattern through all sorts of experiences. And you can always pass on this wisdom to your family and friends.

2. You are more experienced.

The older you get, the more experienced you are especially in your profession and work skills. By the time you are in your late 40s and 50s, you have already gained two decades of experience. Your skills and knowledge are more valuable and it is much appreciated by the younger generation in personal, professional, and business relationships.  People will be more interested to know your expertise and opinion on certain matters.

3. The longer your marriage, the stronger it gets.

Marriage will get stronger as you grow older. Your love and understanding will get deeper with time. You will be more connected with your partner. Your respect, commitment, and dedication towards each other will increase. The relationship gets stronger and beautiful.  You would enjoy getting old with your beloved cherishing all the beautiful memories you have created together.

4. You are much happier and empathetic.

As time goes by you have figured out your dreams, your passion and a way to achieve them. You are more settled in personal and professional life. And that makes you happier in your later ages then your younger age. You don’t have to deal with any peer pressure, social norms, and more likely you will be free from major responsibilities. You also turn more empathetic towards each other. You are more calm, kind, and compassionate.  You would enjoy seeing your children and grandchildren growing old along with you.

5. You become better at managing emotions.

Our emotions develop as we grow. With all the things that happen in life, you have figured out an approach to deal with. You have better control over your emotions. You are able to deal with conflicts more effectively and become more resilient towards challenges.

6. You are more courageous and graceful.

Growing old will make you graceful and courageous. You won’t fear to take chances in life and that defines your courage. You have gracefully faced everything that came your way. You would have had to sacrifice and struggled to reach this point in life. Throughout life, you learned to accept failures and embrace success.

Growing Old While Creating Beautiful Memories

As I grew old, I loved spending time with my grandma. I always looked in her eyes, whenever she spoke about anything. What I saw was years of waiting, dreaming, and unending hope. Her lips always said prayers for everyone. I used to give her bath and, comb her hair, dress her and she would be really happy. She would always wait for my return from the office. I was always inspired by her. She was in her late 80s when she started staying with our family.  Her skin had wrinkled and yet she used to radiate a lot. She was beautiful. I always used to take her hands in mine and feel the warmth she emitted from within. I loved hearing stories from her, especially about grandpa. She used to teach valuable lessons on life and love. And her words had wisdom and courage. Over the years, a couple fight, they love, they share, and they care. I love the fact that love still exists in one of its unique forms.

The best thing that life can offer you is memories. Sometimes they are sweet and sometimes they are sour and bitter. Both are important to relish the flavor of life. I want to make memories that will be retained in my life and in my heart forever. What holds two hearts together is nothing but the way they feel about each other, the undying commitment. Walking through difficult lanes and still holding on to each other strong is what makes a powerful bond that stays long. Conversation makes memories, our dreams makes memories, people and places make memories and in turn, all of these things make our life worthy of living. I want to live my life holding on to these beautiful memories that will be created with time.

Growing old with the person you love is truly extraordinary.

Years of stories, conversation, laughter, tears, joy, sorrow, hope, love, pain, and sacrifices have passed to make the person older and wiser. At the same time, your eyesight declines, your hair becomes silver and grey, your face wrinkles, the body weakens, it almost gives up, we become childlike, mostly dependent on others but there is one thing that keeps you going, it is your heart. The heart that is full of memories and strong faith. There is a hope always beneath the secret chambers of your heart to live life to the fullest and yet waiting to be buried peacefully under the earth.
